Just 10 minutes from Rochester upon Medway and the Dartford Tunnel, this hotel is within an hour’s drive of the Channel Tunnel, ferry ports and central London.
The hotel has direct access from the A2 London to Dover road, but is set back in 12 acres of peaceful woodland with 2 fine lakes. There is parking for over 250 cars.
Privately owned, the hotel has 78 modern rooms, a fine restaurant and first class conference and banqueting facilities.

This room has one double bed and one bunk bed. It is suitable for 2 adults and 2 children.
Our restaurant offers traditional French and English meals and has a varied selection of hot and cold snacks. During the day you can get meals at the bar. Please note that our restaurant is closed on Sundays.
During some Saturdays there are dance evenings at the Lakeside restaurant. Recent music groups were The Supremes, The Searchers, Ben E King and Boney M.
There is a formal dinner with dress code every Wednesday. Please note that jeans and sportive clothes are not allowed on those days. Guests who do not wish to wear dress code can have dinner at our bar.
By Car
From the M25:
- Exit at junction 2, and take the A2 towards Canterbury.
- We are 8 miles from this point, approximately 2 miles past the Gravesend (A227) exit.
- The exit is signposted 'Thong, Chalk and Inn on the Lake' (it is 200 metres past the Little Chef/Esso garage).
- We are then immediately in front of you.
From Dover and the M2:
- As you cross the River Medway and approach the steep hill, take the second exit signposted Cobham, Shorne and Hotel.
- At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit signposted Inn on the Lake.
- This road will lead you to the bridge over the A2. Then, turn right and we are straight ahead.
