FAQs about hotels in Llandudno

Victorian Resort with a Welsh Twist

The most popular Wales seaside resort, Llandudno covers a peninsula with 2 sandy coastlines. The North Shore’s wide Victorian promenade is lined with period buildings which now house seafront hotels and guest houses. The beach itself stretches all the way between the Little Orme and Great Orme headlands, passing an outdoor swimming pool.

A historic tram climbs to the peak of Great Orme, where Bronze Age copper mines can be visited. The top is also reachable by cable car from Happy Valley, a recreation area with gardens and an artificial ski slope.

A road runs around the base of the headland passing the historic Grand Hotel, a property available on Booking.com and overlooking the Grade II-listed pier – the longest in Wales. The West Shore is much less developed and the Maesdu Golf Course forms most of its shoreline.

Of course, Llandudno has its fair share of traditional seaside pursuits such as donkey rides and fish and chip shops.

The town also has a modern retail park near the train station and Venue Cymru event centre, and wrought-iron canopies shade smaller shops along Mostyn Avenue, Broadway and Street. The latter - Mostyn Street - is effectively the high street and becomes brightly decorated during the Victorian carnival in May.

It as a nice town with lots of nice shops and cafes , unfortunately some of the larger shops such as marks& Spencers have moved off the high street on to the retail park, but this is within a easy walking distance just past the high street, there are open top bus tours around the area , Conway castle is close as well has other beautiful areas you can visit,

It is a very traditional Victorian resort, with 2 excellent promenades, the main prom is wide and well maintained, there is a long pier with small fairground attractions, and craft shops. There is also the oldest Punch and Judy show and store. I am from the area but moved many years ago. It was nice to visit like a proper tourist/ holidaymaker! A lot has changed in Llandudno since i lived there. Very clean wherever I went and some great places to eat and drink in. I have always rated the north prom which is where my hotel was located with the stunning bay capturing the Orme / pier and little Orme. Good to see a few of the hotels are having work done to them. This will mean that the area will remain as it is with plenty of character.

Comfortable, spacious and clean. Close to both main promenade and also West Shore. Dog friendly as well. Bed very comfortable and the bedroom is a great size. We were able to park directly outside the apartment which was helpful. Communication from the owner was good with any questions answered promptly. Have stayed in some fab hotels in Llandudno ..St George's, The Merrion, The Imperial to name a few however in terms of value for money - this apartment is great especially when you compare it against what else you could get for that price.

Breakfast buffet had everything you would want for good English/Welsh breakfast. Hotel location close to the beach with great sea views, close enough to walk to Llandudno pier and to the vast amount of shops in and around the town centre. Many eating places and Venue Cymru provides theatre entertainment. The hotel staff made us feel a part of the family extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel was warm and comfortable and our en suite was a wet room. Will return one day, for now just like to say hello to Coco.

You simply could not find a better place to stay in Llandudno. The Hotel is absolutely pristine throughout and situated in the best location with sea views overlooking the famous pier. The Breakfast is buffet style with a massive choice and if you have a big appetite you'll love it. Loved the location we have stayed here before and was perfect , totally different experience this time ! We don’t live near the sea so when we go to Llandudno a sea view is our main priority when booking a hotel , unfortunately we were never told our views were obscured by scaffolding , I understand works have to be done but I would never have booked if I had known and think this is very unfair when you’re looking forward to your weekend away!!

The hotel had a smart exterior with a location ideally situated for Llandudno town & seafront. It had good access with ramp provided for those patrons using a wheelchair or pushchair. There was a two tiered terrace for hotel guests to sit out with bar drinks. The hotel public areas were spotlessly clean & tastefully decorated with an open plan restaurant looking out onto the pier & seafront. The hotel had a small lift to all floors.
